Are There Direct Flights to Zimbabwe from the UK?

Yes. Air Zimbabwe restarted its nonstop service between London Gatwick and Harare in July 2026. The flights leave Gatwick on Monday, Thursday and Saturday, and return from Harare on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. A European airline operates them on a leased Airbus A330, and you book with Air Zimbabwe as usual.

Gatwick is currently the only UK airport with direct flights to Zimbabwe. From Heathrow, Manchester, Birmingham and other airports, you connect through a hub such as Dubai, Addis Ababa, Nairobi, Kigali or Doha. Schedules can change, so we always confirm live availability before you book. Read our full guide to direct flights from the UK to Harare.

For Bulawayo and Victoria Falls, there are no direct flights from the UK. Most travellers connect through a hub or fly into Harare first, then take a short domestic flight.

Best Time to Fly to Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe's dry season runs roughly from May to October, with sunny days and cooler nights. This is the most popular time for safaris. The rainy season, roughly November to March, is greener and often cheaper. Victoria Falls is usually at its fullest from about March to May.

Baggage Allowance on Flights to Zimbabwe

On most economy fares, you can check in two bags of up to 23 kg each and take one cabin bag. Lower fares may include only one checked bag, so check before you book. Zimbabwe also lets each traveller bring in goods worth USD 200 duty-free for personal use, with some exceptions.

Best Time to Book Flights to Zimbabwe

As a general rule, booking about six weeks ahead gives a good balance of choice and price. Flying midweek, on a Tuesday or Wednesday, is often cheaper than flying at the weekend. For school holidays and Christmas, book several months ahead, because seats fill fast. This matters even more for the direct flight, which runs only three times a week.

It is also worth comparing a return ticket with two one-way tickets. Sometimes this costs less and gives you more flexibility.
